Volunteer Opportunities with Blackout Productions Entertainment
We are always looking for help to mount our productions. Below is a list of possible positions we may be looking to fill with volunteers. Internships for high school and college students also available.

USHER
 
We rely on our dedicated volunteers to make Blackout Productions possible with opportunities for students and adults 14 and older including ushering performances, assistance at special events, and office work. We also have opportunities to working alongside professionals creating our sets and costumes (special expertise required). As a thank you, Volunteers receive ticket vouchers to see future productions and events at every shift AND are invited to the annual Volunteer Appreciation Reception. Ushers provide a welcoming and friendly face to all our patrons, no previous experience necessary. All new volunteers will receive training during your shift and our Production Managers are always there to assist you. Scheduling for ushering is on a first come, first served basis and a shift averages 3 hours.
 
AGE LIMIT: For the safety of everyone involved, ALL USHERS MUST BE 14 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER and demonstrate effective customer service skills. Stages Theatre Company relies on ushers in emergency situations and strives to have the safest experience possible. Volunteers Ages 14-16 MUST be accompanied by another volunteer 18+.

PLEASE NOTE: For the safety of the children and families we serve, please note that all volunteers 18+ must agree to a Child Protection Background Check. Cost for this is covered by Blackout Productions
Usher Responsibilities Include:

• Tearing tickets

• Distributing show programs

• Assisting audience members to their seats

• Quickly walking through the theater after performances to pick up programs

COMMITMENT: Volunteer ushering requires you to be on your feet and able to move up and down stairs. Some light lifting may be required. Volunteer Usher hours vary. Time commitment is usually 3 hours per shift.
